Testimonials
"I can remember thinking Debs how brilliant you were with info and quick responses despite us not having actually booked. It was pretty impressive and also your enthusiasm really shone through.... Steve was all of the above!!! For our family he absolutely made the trip so special. The girls adored him and he was so kind to them in so many little ways. For someone who had travelled so much in Africa I was impressed how he was always enthusiastic about where we were going and could impart knowledge, road conditions and instructions in such a humorous and entertaining way. He is a marvelous story teller and regularly had the girls spell bound and gob smacked all in one!
Tracey was a gentle girl and her enthusiasm for Africa was just so refreshing. She was lovely to be with and despite not having visited some of the countries we went to, her information was spot on and well researched. She too has a really nice way of explaining what's ahead for the next day etc. She was very considerate of everyone in the group."
Kate and family, Australia 2011
"Don't really think there was a best part or worst part. Overall it was a great experience. The 'hard yards' will be remembered with just as much clarity as will the coldest beer! All of it was an experience that we would not have missed"
Pete and Barb, Australia 2011
"The website fired the imagination and built a degree of excitement. However, did not give too much detail so there was always a surprise in store. There were so many new sightings of animals, scenery and people that were best on that occasion, it is difficult to pick the best. I guess it comes down to just experiencing Africa. Some campsites were better than others, but this was to be expected. We were on safari in Africa not Australia! The product you are selling is excellent. You are selling an expedition. Be careful not to dilute the safari image by changing the camping aspect."
Graham and Narelle, Australia 2011
"We were very nervous about traveling to Africa for the first time. You answered all our questions before travelling and when we finally arrived out nerves were automatically relieved by Tracey and Francis. The 7 day Migration Discovery is a fantastic safari, we saw everything and more than we ever imagined, the food Tracey cooked and served was superb, you looked after us exceptionally well. Looking forward to our next Africa adventure.... Cairo to Cape with you is next on our list"
Paul and Brenda, Australia 2011
"Deb you were brilliant and your immediate personal replies were very encouraging and inviting. At first I thought it was because of our Adelaide connection but then I realised it is just your nature and the other 2 couples commented on the same"
Ken and Meryn, Australia, 2010
"The freedom to travel in our own vehicle and to position our vehicle for the best viewing of the wild animals. We kept looking at the other tourists in their sardine tins and thinking how privileged we were to have such independence. The camping was also fantastic because this is OUR preferred method of camping. No 5 stars for us! Friends have expressed amazement that we did not have armed guards, did not have to be escorted everywhere etc but to us this was the thrill of the trip. The small number of clients in each safari was also fantastic. We were impressed with the effort that Fiona made to make Meryn's 60th such a memorable occasion, even going as far as getting a special non alcoholic drink for us. The entire trip was just so exciting for us!"
Ken and Meryn, Australia, 2010
"Sorry it's a bit late but I've been wanting to drop you a mail to just say what an absolutely wicked time we had... hands down the best hols!!! (I'm sure I already said this to you but I guess you can never tire of positive feedback!!) Coming home was a shock to the system. We've also succeeded in boring all friends and family with one too many giraffe and elephant pics (my personal favs) but I'm pleased to say I don't imagine we'll bore of reminiscing or recalling what an amazing time we had for a very long time! It really was everything we hoped for and more, it's a brilliant thing you have going there and I've been passing on recommendations to anyone and everyone that'll listen!! Please pass on our thanks to Fiona and Francis, they kept a cool head in a couple of hairy situations and their assistance over the course of the 2 weeks was invaluable - especially Francis's tyre changing skills, I think by the end of the 2 weeks he was up to F1 speed....!"
Michele and Glen, UK, 2010
"Oh my word ... I cannot believe that our holiday is all over.
What a wonderful adventure we had ... thanks to Fiona and Francis!!!! What an awesome team they make. Thank you F & F ... we had a grand time. Even the rain did not dampen our spirits. It was wonderful meeting you as well Debs ... I left Kenya having made friends and I definitely have to visit again. Francis you are a wonderful driver/mechanic and I just love you sense of humour!!! Fiona you are a wonderful guide/cook and although you are not Kenyan you are a wonderful ambassador for the country ... and as I said earlier you together with Francis make a wonderful team. Thank you for the effort that you both made to make our trip to Kenya something really special"
Doug and Nel, South Africa, 2010
"You have created a unique and very real way of seeing part of Kenya, we loved it, every minute of it. I think your product sits above the general overland experience"
hris, Nat and Savannah, South Africa, 2010
"Hi Debs & Thiemo
How are you all doing?
After we got back from SA we've had quite a hectic period here. Finishing up our finances and getting started on the book and possibly a DVD as well.
We're also planning a new journey in 2012, but unfortunately it won't involve the African continent. Football is bringing us to Poland and Ukraine, the Olympics will take us to London. That will make for a European journey, which is quite interesting as well because only a few over here understand the size, beauty and diversity of our continent.
In planning this new trip I started reflecting on how our African journey came together and realised how much different and even more stressful it would have been without AES, let alone if we would have been able to secure the barges in Aswan. I've said it before, but once again, thank you very much for all your support and concern.
Now let's hope that South Africa wins the bid for the 2020 Olympics! That will give you 9 years to figure out how to guide us down the west coast. And hopefully we'll be back on the continent before that. Only difference would be that next time I'm skipping Egypt, coming in to Port Sudan from Saudi Arabia.
Well I hope it has also been a positive experience for the both of you and Eddie & Fiona. Eddie was a great match to our group because he's even crazier than most of us.
Oranje Trophy 2010 has been the largest convoy of vehicles in history to complete the classic Cairo to Cape Town adventure, which would not have been possible without Africa Expedition Support.
Thanks again, on behalf of the entire Oranje Trophy group."

"I cannot thank you guys enough for such a brilliant
Kenya and Tanzania Discovery. As you know Sharon was not keen on a guided
self drive and took some convincing – she is now your greatest advocate!
Many thanks for all the hard work and enthusiasm you poured into making
the last 2 weeks totally unforgettable and excellent value for money. We
really enjoyed the small group of only 4 vehicles. Keep up the high standard
and quality service."
Peter and Sharon, Australia 2009

Thanks to all of you for your company and friendship. In the first time,
it was a little difficult for me, to join a group so long together but you
made it easy for me with your humor. Seeing all those countries was fantastic
and the wild life in the national parks. Thiemo, you told me so much about
during our long drives. Debs, your meals were delicious!"

We booked our honeymoon with them and it was a trip of a life time. Thiemo
our driver/guide knew everyone and everything and he is a brilliant cook!”
Rebecca, Australia, 2008
“I was very confused which Company to choose for
my Africa Adventure, I had loads of brochures and travel agents were giving
me all sorts of advice but no one could really answer all my questions until
I found AES. It didn’t matter how many questions I asked each and
every email was answered in detail and honestly. I booked my holiday with
AES and had a fantastic time, the service from first enquiry to after the
tour was unbeatable. Thank you for your patience and perseverance. I highly
recommend traveling with Africa Expedition Support”
Sally, UK, 2008
“Very professional, very knowledgeable, excellent
service, brilliant tour”
Jason, UK, 2008
"If you are looking at doing a trip in Africa and
want to go with experienced tour operators that have years of over landing
under their belts - then this is the company!!! I really hope I get to go
back to Africa and do a much longer trip; my first choice in tour operator
will be Africa Expedition Support. Thanks for a truly memorable trip!!"
Regan, New Zealand 2007
"Huge breakfasts and dinners everyday and no hidden
costs...unlike other companies. What more could you ask for. The crew seemed
to know EVERYONE! From locals at markets, to the campsite staff and other
drivers and guides. Gave us a very 'local' insight into Africa rather than
a touristy look in."
Kate, Australia 2007
"I wouldn't change anything about the trip I did,
but I will definitely allow more time for any future trips I do in Africa!!
I wish we had stayed longer so we could have seen and done so much more"
Debs, New Zealand 2007
"I enjoyed all the activities. And I had the best
food and biggest portions in a long time! Not very original, I know, but
that was a highlight, too!"
Dietmar, Germany 2007
"I will be recommending you guys to anyone and
everyone who is heading to Africa! You were both fantastic!"
Claire, UK, 2007
"It is not the one place which makes the trip worthwhile,
it is the package. The time was great, the food was delicious and the memories
of the trip everpresent"
Steffi, Germany, 2007
"First of all, let me thank you both for providing
me with an experience of a lifetime, be it the adventure of rafting down
the turbulent Nile, to the bumpiness of the Kenyan 'motorway'!"
Keith, Malaysia, 2007
"The whole experience was absolutely fantastic,
just the right trip, everything felt like it was as it was meant to be.
Exactly the kind of trip I was looking for"
Steve, UK, 2007
"The best part of the safari is impossible to say,
because you can hardly compare Gorillas with rafting with all the experiences.
I enjoyed most the wild animals (Gorillas and Serengeti). Why? Because,
back home, you can show off tremendously when you say you had a 2m tall
gorilla in reach, a blood blurred lion staring in your camera, a buffalo
scratching his head at your tent and an elephant coming for your marshmellows
.... all these are experiences for our lifetime. But I want also to emphasize
that all this wouldn't have been that exciting if it were not for the little
things at the side of the road: changing money at the Ugandan border, crossing
into Congo, driving over the vulcanos, smiling and waving at the police
officers in Tanzania...."
Reik, Germany, 2007
"Debs and Thiemo were excellent and a real asset
to the Company"
Paul, New Zealand, 2007
"The crew exceeded expectations, they were fantastic
in every way from the Info they gave to the excellent cooking"
Laura, UK, 2007
"Thanks crew! Keep up the good work, and brush
up on the leopard spotting skills!"
Keith, Malaysia, 2007
"We didn't find your web page very convincing,
but itinerary, price and customer care definitely were. So we gave you a
shot..."
Steffi, Germany, 2007
"Debs is a fantastic cook. Food was fabulous. They
(Debs and Thiemo) made this trip so much more enjoyable"
Danni, Germany, 2007
"It is almost invaluable that such a trip puts
your life in perspective. Having all the little experiences along the street
you start appreciating standards which you have taken for granted. For example,
we appreciate well-paved roads and efficient public transport more than
before. Also, having an glimpse on how East Africans live, how their system
works (that it works at all!!!), learning that Uganda is not the end of
the world...all this is at least for me very enriching. But besides the
abstract experiences and reducing to a single event: The day of Gorilla
trekking was very valuable (not only moneywise)."
Reik, Germany, 2007
"You did a great job! We do not have to say that,
and we are not only polite - we really mean that."
Georgie and Ben, USA, 2007
"Debs and Thiemo made the trip. Can't praise them
highly enough. Thanks Guys!"
Jules, UK, 2007
"Africa Expedition Support was great; I would highly
recommend them. They even provided mattresses and camping chairs"
Julia, Canada, 2007
"I couldn't wish for better crew. Both very helpful,
knowledgeable and a really good laugh"
Simone, USA, 2007
"We appreciated very much that you never gave us
the feeling that you are bored by the trip, by the ever same questions and
the instructions (money changing, water buying, malaria etc.), which you
must hate after doing this every 3 weeks. You kept us smiling 99% of the
time! We should not forget to praise the camping chairs. They were really
comfortable and added some luxury to the tour. :-)"
Steffi, Germany, 2007
"Debs and Thiemo were great. Very happy with all
their help and advice!!!"
John, Australia, 2007
“What an awesome trip, what an awesome crew ….
What more can one say but thank you for a fantastic holiday”
