School Trips and Safaris in East Africa

Trekking, Adventure and Culture
safari game drives

Safari game drives are one of the highlights on our school trips in East Africa

East Africa is the ideal place for school trips offering unbelievable safari game drives, trekking, adventure activities and cultural experiences. This region of Africa is immersed in spectacular landscapes and rugged terrain for a truly memorable encounter that offers nothing short of never ending fun and excitement. Whether students are after the challenge of going in search of the Big 5 (elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion and leopard), climbing to the peak of Mt Kilimanjaro, achieving PADI dive qualifications while exploring the best reefs in the world, or learning to jump like a Masai warrior, East Africa has it all.

East Africa comprises of Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania. While these nations are neighbours, they offer diverse and uniquely different African adventures. You may want to focus your school trip in one country or take in the beauty and varied attractions of all three.

School Trips to Uganda: Adventures Abound

Uganda is a very popular East Africa school trip destination with amazing adventure options for students. You can trek critically endangered Mountain Gorillas, explore the “mountain of the moon” and the valley of nine lakes of the Rwenzori Mountains, grade 5 white water raft down the mighty Nile River, ride an ATV quad bike on safari through Lake Mburu National Park, mountain bike through African villages on the banks of the Nile, and trek chimpanzees in Kibale forest. Uganda is truly the adventure capital of East Africa.

School Trips to Kenya: Safari Game Driving and Much More

Look what we spotted on a game drive in East Africa! These lion cubs entertained us for hours.

For those after a combination of adventure, culture and trekking, Kenya has it all. A relatively small country with everything from mountain ranges to unbelievable game parks to tropical beaches. Kenya offers school groups the complete package ensuring students have the time of their life. Seek out the Big 5 on a game drive safari in one of the many supreme game parks, like the Masai Mara National Reserve, soar to new heights as you trek to the peak of Mt Kenya, dive and snorkel in the most pristine aquatic rich waters on the Swahili coast, learn bush skills from spear making to lighting fires by Masai warriors, white water raft the Tana River, explore traditional villages and markets and discover just how tall giraffes are while on a walking safari. The options are endless.

WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS SAY…

The good news is we had a great holiday and can’t wait to do it all again. The kids have not stopped raving about the trip and the amazing people they met and sites they saw. You ran a great trip and we want everyone to experience Africa that way! So we have been talking and we think you should be running trips in Egypt and the Middle East so we can do that with you too.

School Trips to Tanzania: From Mt Kilimanjaro to the Beaches of Zanzibar

For those after something a little different for their school trip how about a horse riding safari!

For those after something a little different for their school trip how about a horse riding safari!

Tanzania is as diverse as one could imagine, from the dry savannah plains of the Serengeti to the snow peaks of Mt Kilimanjaro to the tropical island of Zanzibar. School trips can see and do everything from within Tanzania! The most popular activities are a safari to the Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Crater, tour banana plantations and relish in a local village meal, mountain bike through a coffee plantation, go canoeing in Lake Manyara National Park, trek Mt Kilimanjaro or take on a smaller mountain like Mt Meru, immersed in traditional cultures and learning about community farming cooperatives in the Usumbara Mountains, explore historical Stone Town on Zanzibar. Learn about Zanzibar’s dark slave trade history and swim with dolphins. Tanzania is a one-stop destination!

Whatever is on your wish list for your school trip to Africa, or whatever you want your students to experience, our East Africa tours are the ideal destination to make this happen. If you want to add an educational aspect to your adventure tour, then we have a number of African community service projects on offer.
